Finger Print Sensor Not Working

Question

My computer's finger print sensor randomly stopped working. It had worked since I got it, but today when I went to unlock my computer it asked for my pin. I went to see if I had accidentally turned off the finger print sensor, but it says it is unavailable because it can not find a finger print sensor on my computer. How can I get it to work again?

You did not post the exact model number of your system but in general did you try to install the drivers for the sensor?

Well I'm not sure how to do that. The finger print sensor keeps working on and off. It'll work for a few hours and then if I go back to my computer later that night it won't work again.

Model your system model??

go to support

and enter your service tag. Click on drivers and downloads. Find finger print driver and install it.

Delete your finger Prints from settings > account > sign in options and add them back after a restart

4) Double-click Biometric devices, then select the fingerprint device, right-click and select "Uninstall Device".

5) Restart your computer and test to see if the fingerprint reader is working properly.
