Fluid leaking - 7559
Hi, I never expected my first post on a forum to ever be this bizarre but, my Inspiron 7559 (4K touchscreen variant, if that is important) has been having some display issues. First, the whole left side of the panel became really dim, but the bottom of the panel became VERY washed out and bright (I can't even explain it). Yesterday, I noticed some viscous fluid leaking out from the bottom left of the display that triggered a weird allergic reaction on contact with my skin. I'm not sure if this material is toxic or not so any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated!

Hey! Thank you for your response. Well, the device is long out of its warranty period, I'm afraid. I'm concerned about not finding replacement parts because of the current pandemic, so this could be leaking for a long time.

If you're in the US, parts-people.com has the assembly (you cannot replace just the panel - the upper assembly is a single unit).

It is likely a broken panel. The fluid isn't toxic unless ingested - wash it off, of course, and if you choose to replace the screen yourself, by all means wear gloves. One way or another though, the panel needs to be replaced.
The "L" in LCD is liquid, so any screen can leak if it's cracked or the seal (usually plastic or metal tape between the layers) fails. There's nothing special about a touchscreen that would make it leak - or not. Touch or not, the internal construction of the screen is the same and both have viscous liquid inside.

Welcome to the Dell Community @farzan_hussain
Touchscreen is important because only touchscreens leak.
The ones I have worked on the liquid was very, very sticky.
As far as "Toxicity" I am not sure???
Is the laptop still under warranty???
Best regards,
U2

@ejn63 unfortunately I'm in Asia and the only vendor I came across that was selling an OEM panel failed to dispatch the order from AliBaba
