G7 15 7588 lagging game and again running smoothly

Hello I am really sorry for my bad English but what my problem is that. I brought this laptop a month ago everything was fine every game was running buttery smooth. But suddenly after a month later I notice that my games runs smooth at first and lags suddenly and after a few seconds it again runs smoothly. This happens frequently every game runs smooth and lags, runs smooth and lags. Please help !!!

Same problem here!

But I made a test playing a game with the open task manager and realized that at the time of the lag, the network graph disappears and reappears when the game returns.

The problem is probably with the Killer E2400 ethernet controller.

When i play on wi-fi, there is no lag. Its normal.

What you are saying is in no way a solution to the problem! Dell g7 by default has throttling issues, as soon as you cut the power the cpu drops to 0.9 ghz. what about that? Now the Gpu?

Won’t be buying from Dell again. I’m no avid gamer by any means, but I figured this laptop would at least get me get some better graphical quality and improved gameplay... boy was I wrong. I’m back to my XBOX because my G7 won’t run any of today’s games without the god awful i7 capping at 100 immediately after clicking the icon of the game... I can’t believe the let people buy these without telling them that it might not work on the games you’re probably trying to play... I should’ve spent three times more for something I won’t have to “upgrade”... I just got off of the new Call of Duty and my G7 almost ruined the Beta experience for me until I left. I wish I could get my money back but that’s like pulling teeth nowadays. Worst machine ever built.

I have had this problem with my machine as well. Get on DELL web site and download the Power Management utility. Run it and set the machine to Ultimate performance then restart and the problems will be completely gone.

imma start guessing you and other dont have the laptop propped up and have it sitting flat... if it over heats its going to do that just like anhthing else and you are burning it up cause it aint getting any air. there is vents on the bottom of it when fans kicks on put your hand underneath it it pulls up air... ive not once ever had a  problem not supposed to have it on your lap either

another thing aswell you have to have the laptop plugged in or you wont habe good fps and will lag you have like a 10 foot 15 foot charging cable though. its good unless you have it not plugged in. i played call of duty ffxiv apex legends you name it ive played it. its just something simple and gou have ti make sure your stuff is at high perfomance.

You obviously are doing something major wrong because I have never had one problem with this laptop since I bought it 8 months ago! So don't you dare tell people not to get the product! You probably have slow internet. You need good internet to run it. Even with my 15Mbps or even junk internet at 4Mbps I have never ever lagged on this Dell laptop! It's the best one I have ever used. I don't know what you did but you guys who messed with the settings or downloading a bunch of stuff and trying play games which you cannot do on laptops. Is mass download and play and exodct fps to be good. I get around 200-300 fps and I have screen shots of it. Or your playing games that has bad servers to begin with.

I had the same problem. Intensive frame drops . I tested it with MSI Afterburner and it showed that when the temp reached 78 degrees(5-6 seconds) the throttling begins and continues. The reason for this is of course the Infamous Dell BIOS update which after 1.3 has turned Dell G series laptops into Frying pans. I did a lot of Searching and finally came upon a solution which should give you a stable 30-40 fps with occasional frame lag.

Solution:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfIxf73RGEg

Follow this and I can guarantee your throttling will def improve.

My work-around to play Doom 2016 without lag or choppiness

I disabled speed step and turbo boost in the bios.

Playing at maxed out settings. (only for this quarantine period)

Dell G7 7588, i7 8750H, 16gb ram, gtx1060 max-Q

Hope this helps
