G7 7700 - After updating Alienware Command Center It always asks to update OC Controls

Hello,

after updating Alienware Command Center Application to version 5.4.35.0, I am experiencing some issues.

First of all, every time I run ACC It prompts to update OC Controls. I did it the first time and the current version installed is 1.3.68.1380, A00 (the very last available at time typing) but it keeps on asking me to update that.

Most probably due to this, there are some additional issues. Backlight and Lightbar color themes are not applied permanently anymore. Every time I shut down the laptop, it seems everything is reset to defaults (random colors blinking and fading in/out).

I tried to install the previous version and everything worked as expected. Unfortunatelly, ACC updates automatically not allowing me to stop the issues and once it is updated it starts to prompt to update OC Controls.

Any suggestion to solve the issue? It clearly seems to be like a bug.

Operating System: Windows 10

Thank you,

Good Evening Xleon88,

I went through the update process today and it seems to have stuck. No longer prompting the update as of now so I would recommend giving it another try. Make sure you update all apps through the windows store first however (esp. the alienware ones).

Just to let you know this started for me last night as well. I imagine it's an issue with the updated program and will have to  be fixed on Dell's end. I just clear the notification when it pops up now because if I go through with the download my only options are to uninstall the current version or cancel. I'm going to troubleshoot a little more tonight and update if necessary.

I'm running windows 10 on the aurora R10 so it isn't isolated to you or your system.

Hello rdigs31789,

thanks for your reply.

Please let me know in case you find a way to fix the issue. Dell Support suggested me to install the older version of AWCC and set up firewall rules in order to avoid AWCC to auto-update. Not the best option but as a workaround sounds good to me.
