One thing to check--you should not have changed any drivers on the new computer. It should have come with all the latest customized Dell drivers. If you changed to any other manufacturer's drivers, reinstall the original Dell drivers. Those are customized for your exact motherboard and will not work right with drivers from other manufacturers. The only update you should have done was Windows Update. Laptop rarely if ever get updated drivers and if they do they must come from Dell--not AMD, Intel, Nvidia or any other manufacturer.

Hope that helps.

I have always bought Dell and the G7 is possibly the worst purchase I have ever made. I have had nothing but issues with it since I bought it. It dies while off its charger and when it has been totally shutdown. It overheats, the battery has already had to be replaced twice, the touch pad completely stops responding. I have updated drivers, I have installed and reinstalled everything. I have run virus scans and ran all of its diagnostics. Nothing works.

I used to game on it since it was a gaming laptop but even on the charger it always died. I didn't even play the big graphics games and I always played on the lowest settings. My XPS lasted for seven years and this one barely lasted two before the problems started. And now it has an annoying issue where it keeps freezing for no reason a few minutes after start up.

Do not buy this brand. I have used Dell for nearly 20 years and I am about to go back down to the store and find a different brand.
