Hard drive not installed after replacement
I apologize if this question has been answered but I have searched for days now and still can't find a solution.
I replaced the hard drive in my Inspiron 3501 with a 256GB PCIe 3.0 SSD and went to install Windows and it could not find a drive. The Dell SupportAssist - Pre-Boot system performance check gives me a Warning Message "Hard Drive - Not Installed". I have updated the BIOS and I still get the same warning message. I am at a loss as to what to try next.
If anyone can help me resolve this issue I would be grateful.

You either need to pause the install with F6 when indicated and load the driver from a flash drive, or change the drive from IRST/RAID to AHCI mode in setup (F2 at powerup).

I'm really a novice at this, so if you could please walk me through these options. "Pause the install" do you mean the Windows install? and what driver do I need to load onto a flash drive and how will I install this driver?
Changing the drive from IRST/RAID to AHCI in setup (F2 at powerup). Is this something that the Dell software will automatically do?

After hours of trying to fix this problem, I just put the old hard drive back in and low and behold the computer detected it. So I just ran a reset and will have to be happy with that.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my query.
