Hinge broken

What I find interesting is I have an Inspiron 15 3511 and my hinge just broke on my 18 month old laptop. Both my wife and my mother-in-law have the same exact laptop and each of those laptops also encountered broken hinges which were fixed under warranty. It is very clear to me this is a common issue on this model and Dell customer support told me that this is not a known issue which I said is a complete lie. Not only did I see 3 family members laptop hinges fail just like mine but the internet is loaded with people with the exact same problem. If Dell really cared, they would have fixed my laptop under warranty and better yet, have a recall but how dare them say it is not a known issue and have me pay for a repair. I will never buy another Dell product and will not be recommending Dell computers.

What is the hinge policy? Is it worth sending my laptop to Dell?

@golfbowler​ mine also 18 months old. All our other laptops have 3 year warranty
