How do I boot into a different Drive partition and install Windows?

To make this short we need to install Respondus Lockdown browser for one of my classes to take exams. I searched about it before actually installing it and would prefer not to directly install this application on my main OS as I read it was pretty invasive in what it changes and even after uninstalling it still retains whatever it changed beforehand.

I was told I could partition my current drive, install Windows on it, and then install Respondus there so that I could just delete the partition after the semester ends and would no longer need the browser.

I’m not all that tech-savvy so I am not completely sure how to go about this. After searching around the first step I assume is to create a new partition using Disk Management. Then use a USB Microsoft installer to install Windows onto that. But what exactly are the steps after creating a new partition? I assume its to choose the new partition when booting up the laptop after pressing F12 in the Dell logo screen but I’m kind of stumped on what to do after that and how to actually install Windows onto it. To add onto this, how would I delete the partition afterwards? Is it as simple as just deleting it using Disk Management and reclaiming the space? Hoping someone could help. I have a Dell G5 5590. Thank you!
