Inspiron 13-7370, LCD won't wake up

I have an Inspiron 13-7370 running Windows 10 build 1803.

If the display turns off due to the normal power saving setting, it won't turn back on.  I have to hold the power button down to force the machine to turn off, then reboot it.

This doesn't happen if I initiate a sleep or hibernate action (manually, or by closing the lid).  It only happens when the timer to turn off the display is triggered.  I've tried resetting the power plan to the default settings, but it made no difference.  I'm running the latest BIOS/UEFI version, and I'm running the latest graphics drivers from Intel for the i5-8250U (Intel UHD Graphics 620).

This started a couple of months ago.  The only thing I've been able to do is set the display to never turn off.  When the problem occurs, the keyboard LED lights up, but i can't get the display to come back on, and I can't get the system to rexpond to anything else.  (I've tried running commands with the display off, such as windows+r, shutdown -r -t 0, enter for a restart.  I've tried closing the lid then reopening it to try to trigger sleep mode.  Etc.)

Is this a known issue?  Is there an actual solution?

@Hercave  Did you finally fix it by replacing the wifi card? Let us know!

Yes. It arrived yesterday but there are bad news. I've got the same error: the computer freezes just before the Dell logo appears. I must push the power button again and restart the computer till wakes up.

Meanwhile I've been using an old USB dongle and an USB C to Ethernet adapter (Amazon Basic model) and there was no error whatsoever. The computer started up, suspended and  hibernated  with no issue at all, so the culprit was the wifi card.

Maybe the new one (an Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160MHz) is incompatible with this motherboard too, but I don't want to make more experiments. Maybe I'll purchase a new USB AC/N wifi dongle. At least I know that solution works.

Hercave, you must not have read through this thread all the way (I don't blame you with 17 pages), but I have a strong guess that it was not your WiFi card. Your computer is working now because of the fact that you are keeping a USB dongle installed in your machine all the time. That seems to be the only "fix" known to work by reading these threads.

Jssox, I installed the USB dongle just when I removed the Wi-Fi card. I didn't use both at the same time. Yesterday I installed a new external USB dongle (Comfast CF-811AC) and I removed the last Wi-Fi card (Intel AX210NGW) and voila!, the laptop goes to sleep and hibernate without issue again.

When I turn on the laptop after hibernate or sleep there's no issue either. I don't need to press eight times the power button to restart the computer until the Dell logo appears.

So, is the Wi-Fi card the culprit? Maybe... And maybe the culprit is the motherboard and some kind of  power management error. I don't think it's possible that two Wi-Fi cards are damaged.

Just for fun I reinstalled the last WiFi card along with the new USB dongle. The laptop froze every time I tried to sleep or hibernate it. The only way to recover the computer was to disable the WiFi card in the BIOS.

Now the laptop works fine again.
