Unplug the system, remove the battery and hold the power button for 30 sec.
Remove and reinstall the hard drive.
If it's then seen, press F12 at powerup to run a full diagnostic on it.
If it's not seen after reseating it, it's toast - you'll need a new 2.5" SATA hard drive.
