Inspiron 3580, optimizing memory performance

When it comes to optimizing the performance of my Inspiron 3580 laptop, I  find myself  at a crossroads: is it more advantageous to equip it with two 8GB RAM modules running in dual-channel mode or to go with a single 18GB RAM module in single-channel mode? This decision involves various factors that warrant careful consideration to ensure I'm making the right choice for my laptop's overall performance and efficiency.
