Inspiron 5567 Camera Issue (blank screen)
The built-in camera in my laptop is not working on any application (Skype, Default Camera Windows Application). I badly need to fix this issue since I work at home and every time that I'll be doing a meeting, I'm still using my phone just to attend our meeting. Kindly help me about this issue.
I already tried almost everything that I saw when I searched about this issue but none of them fixed it.
In the default Camera app, it just a black screen while the led light of the built-in webcam is on.
Here are the things that I already did:
- Checked available updates on the Integrated Webcam driver (no updates found)
- Reinstall Camera Driver through Device Manager
- Checked the SupportAssist website if there's available driver that can fix this issue (none)
- Troubleshoot the device (no error occured)
- Created a local account and opened the Camera app if it works (not useful)
- Run the SupportAssist and try to troubleshoot the Camera (result failed. tried twice with 50 mins each test)
- Opened the dxdiag to check if the system detects the built-in webcam (the device was detected)
- Checked the privacy settings of the camera

I had the exact same problem. Spent two hours troubleshooting only to find out there was a physical slider covering the lens...

There are lots of problems with webcams these days.
Curious which version of Windows 10 do you have? v1909 or something else
Also, what is the Hardware ID for the webcam?

Hi @nyc10036 , the current version of my Windows 10 is 1903.
Where can I locate the hardware id? I'm can only see the Driver version of the integrated webcam : 10.0.18362.815
I think this problem is related to hardware compatibility issue facing in the current Windows 10 version.

It's not yet fixed. I'm using my phone when I need a camera during a meeting in my work.

@alphagabrielg
v1903 is older version of Windows 10
v1909
v2004 is the latest
Google how to locate Hardware Id of a device in Device Manager.

Hello,
I have faced same problem for the years and I also work and attend several business and corporate meetings from home. First update your window to latest version. If window is updated then, update all the drivers. You may take help from editor website for free.
