Inspiron 5579 touchpad driver
Running Windows 10 on my dell inspiron 5579 but Support Assist nor the driver website install or provide a driver for the touchpad. Anyone be able to help me out please? I'm desperate to be able to shut it off while I have a USB mouse connected and I believe that's inside this elusive driver.
Also when I open up the touchpad taskbar icon it's empty for what that's worth.

Touchpad has the mouse integrated and is an essential part of a laptop and is needed at boot or for problems at boot. Most laptops have a setting for disabling the touchpad when typing if that's the problem you're having. Check Mouse settings/properties for that since touchpad does not appear in Device Mgr. Windows supplies the drivers for KB, mouse and touchpad automatically, not Dell. Those drivers are from 2006. Right click on HID drivers and select properties to see.

It most certainly does appear in device manager. How would I have gotten the hardware ID's you replied to otherwise?
I found the checkbox to switch off the touchpad while a USB mouse is connected however it would be great to have control over it in the taskbar shortcut as I change it often enough to make it worthwhile, and I'm sure a more comprehensive driver contains this information that's what I'm getting at.
No biggy I can survive without, just surprised that Dell thought it wasn't important enough to include with the drivers for this laptop. Thanks for the response...
