Inspiron stopped working - saying Windows failed to load properly

Question

I was reading the news and all of a sudden I got a blue screen saying Windows failed. After going through Restore and Diagnose, the last screen said to turn it off which I did.

Upon start up, I first see this:

I then get this:

I click Restore and then after the spinning wheel comes on I get this:

I'm not sure what to do because this suddenly happened. Any ideas?

Make another force shut down and wait a couple minutes before turning back on. See what happens as my educated guess.

Were you at the time downloading Win 10 update[s]. Reinstalling? Just left the laptop where you left off to take a break?

I've done the force shut and restart about 7 times now. Same result. Was just sitting in my chair reading the news. All of a sudden got the blue 'windows is not working' screen and then on from there.

OK thanks. I'm going to go ahead and just reset it. Luckily there's not too much on it file-wise. I will post here again with an update.

I went through everything - reset it, tried the Windows recovery, other troubleshooting options. Nothing works.

I do believe you're right. I want to update and close this thread for others.

I found someone at Dell who helped me reimage the entire computer. When it did so, it seemed to work. Then when I tried to download something onto the HD, it said it couldn't be found and did a 100% crash again. So at that point, I trashed the computer and will buy a new one.
