Install windows 10 on M2 SSD

I have Dell G3 3579, and I have added an M2 nvme SSD to amp up the performance for playing games. I did a windows reset and I assumed that system will ask me the location to install the windows and then I will pick drive which is M2 SSD slot. But it didn't happen, any suggestions on what would be the quickest way to install windows on M2 SSD? I'd appreciate the help, thank you.

Thank you for the quick response. Is there any way that I can do this without removing the HDD? I know installing windows using flash drive is an option. Also, how can you detect your drive in BIOS?

If there's another drive in the system, you must remove it before installing Windows 10 onto the M.2 SSD.

Then proceed with a clean install of Windows 10.  Once it's loaded, you can reconnect the original drive and format or clear it for use as a storage drive.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Cita-Dell

Have only the M.2 SSD installed.

Go into BIOS and see if the drive is detected.

In the BIOS set SATA Operation to AHCI.

Now try to install W10.

Best regards,

No - if you leave the original drive in the system, it will remain the boot device, even if you install Windows to the M.2 SSD.  You must physically disconnect it.

Go into setup (F2 at powerup) and check under "Drives" to verify the new drive is detected.

Just to confirm the steps:
1. Disconnect the primary HDD
2. See changes in BIOS
3. Use flash drive to install windows on the M2 SSD

Thank you all for your valuable inputs.

@U2CAMEB4ME Went into Dell Latitude 3540, set BIOS to Simple mode (was in "Advanced setup" mode). Went to STORAGE and changed mode setting to AHCI. Worked like a charm. Thank you!!!!!!!!!  ...B
