Installing Intel Graphics driver from Intel question?
Hi, I have a Dell G5 15 5500.
I have always been led to believe that installing the Dell intel graphics drivers is the best because they contain customisations
I was prompted to install the latest intel drivers from their support and assist program today and while on the page noticed that it said the following:
Can i assume from what it says that i can always update the drivers direct from Intel as it will keep any of Dell's customisations?
If so, when there is future Dell updates, they will be older than the current intel driver that i would have installed, would i be best updating to the newer Dell driver (to install any new updates to the Dell customisations) and then let intel reinstall the newest Intel driver?
I hope i havn't made that seem really complicated lol
Regards
James

That warning says installing Intel's driver will remove Dell customizations. That means you should not ever install Intel's drivers. Dell customizes all drivers to work on the Dell laptop motherboard. All updates should come from Dell. Sign up at Dell to get any notices for updates from Dell. Dell updates for laptops are rare.

Yes the part at the top says it will remove, but then lower down it says if your processor is 6th Gen or higher, the customisations will remain.

I'm going to try this on my Dell Vostro 5593. Currently when using MS Teams Video calling, through the Intel GPU, my cameras (built-in or 3rd party camera), both makes my video feed jerk/jump, however when I change MS Teams App to use my built-in NVidia MX GPU chip, the issue goes away.

Laptop did not explode after updating with the Intel Driver, but the issue remains.
