installing os on external drive
i have a dell inspiron 3505 ryzen 3 came with activated windows 10 os, i want to install windows 7 os to an external usb drive and use it with this laptop! I need to view and convert some billing datas that are old that supports only windows 7.
So far i managed to add boot option entry that helped detection of usb bootable drive which has os, but the system doesn't start up the setup and skips to loading windows 10!!
Is there a way to install windows 7 on my laptop?

No, there is not -- Windows 10 is the only version of windows this system (and just about anything made after 2017) will run.

@ejn63 Adding to ejn63’s answer, full Windows does not support being booted from a drive connected via USB. The only exception is “Windows To Go”, but that requires special preparation and enterprise licensing, and it didn’t exist in Windows 7.
You should look into using Windows 7 in a virtual machine instead. You can use Hyper-V if you have Win10 Pro rather than Home, otherwise VirtualBox is a free alternative.

@kris27kumar It depends on what you’re doing in the VM. I would allocate at least 512 MB of RAM to a Win7 VM, ideally more if you have enough RAM in your system to do so.
