Left shift and left ctrl key not working properly.
Inspiron 7506 2-in-1
So Deborah has been using an external keyboard for a while and noticing that some times her Shift buttons was not working properly when she was putting in passwords. Deborah thought that it was just her external keyboard so she started using the built in keyboard only to find that it is the same issue.
I am a Certified Repair Technician that has been in this field for a 10+ years. I have never seen an issue like this that a quick reset of a keyboard driver or a windows update has not fixed. When deb.bartle brought me her computer she said she had contacted dell support over the phone and someone rudely told her to factory restore the computer to windows 7 even though she purchased it with Windows 11 already installed. Also it is noted in the support system that this computer is compatible with Windows 11.
The shift key works if you only push need it for 1 capital letter, but if you have multiple in a row you have to release it wait a second then push it for it to produce a 2nd capital letter. This issue is not replicated in Safe Mode so I was wondering what software could be preventing me from being able to push and hold my shift key to produce multiple capital letters in a row. Also this is only the Left side of the keyboard the right shift and ctrl work as intended. Also as I am writing this I am trying to highlight things to move them around and the left click is like it is coming depressed even though I do not let go of the button

I had the same issue with an Inspiron 7306 with pen slot and pen. Intermittent working, usually only for a second, of the left shift and control keys, and I could not drag with trackpad. Cleaning, reinstalling drivers, etc. didn't work. I noticed in my settings that my pen was oscillating between connection and disconnection in bluetooth. I replaced my pen with a functioning spare, and noticed that the problem with left keys and trackpad had disappeared. Not sure if it was some interrupt hijack or what, but that was my issues.

I have the same laptop facing the same problem. Here is the simple solution. Go to your Bluetooth setting, you will find that your pen is showing "connecting" frequently.
So, you just need to remove your Bluetooth pen and reconnect it. Then the problem will go. Unfortunately, the same problem will come on after update or windows upgrade. Just repeat the same procedure, the issue will be solved. It seems the swift pair has some bugs.

@Mister_Lee This worked for me as well. Thank you. I do not have a spare but I just removed the device from bluetooth as I do not have a spare and do not use that often. When I do use it, I expect I will get it back on bluetooth as needed.
Thank You.
