Lid/reed/hull switch problem

The plastic at the back of my LCD screen on which my hinge was screwed on broke, which made the screen break. So I had to use super glue to hold it for now but since doing that I have not been able to do a sleep or hibernate function by closing my lid. I've tried so many things and updated ever driver it still doesn't seem to work.  Please what should I do? Is this a driver issue or the hardware is broken?

Could be anything from something that was displaced to a missing magnet in the lid (the most common arrangement has a magnet in the display assembly that trips a switch in the palmrest or on the system board.

Without the system model, it's impossible to tell.  Since it's unlikely adhesive will hold for the long term, you'll be replacing the display assembly at some point, which should solve the issue.
