If you look on your laptop's Dell Support page, you'll see that it supports Ubuntu.
Even if Dell doesn't officially support Linux on a particular computer, you can likely install it and drivers will be found. I've installed Ubuntu, Xubuntu and Mint on a few old Dells that officially don't support Linux.
