lose internet when sleeping

I recently bought a new Dell laptop with windows 11.  As of a few weeks ago my internet disconnects from my computer after being in sleep mode sleeps for too long and does not reconnect even if I click on it manually - I keep being told there is a wifi connection, but no internet, which is not true, because my phone is connected just fine.  The only way to make it work again is to restart the computer.

I've read similar articles where people have had this issue with windows 11, so have attempted to do the do all the trouble shooting ideas suggested on line by others but nothing works. I even did the PC test hardware run when logged into my Dell account but after it has been running for literally  hours, 4+ and only at 57% I just quit.

To save energy, Windows automatically disables the Internet connection when the computer goes into sleep mode. This setting logs off the computer user and severs the computer's connection to the local area network, disrupting office network applications and periodic computer updates and messages.
