Mousepad: cursor randomly disappears and appears

Hi there,

After a DELL update, my mouse cursor is having a life of its own. The cursor disappears and appears on random places on the screen. My laptop has become absolutely useless. I've tried re-install drivers through the DELL assistance program, re-instal windows but nothing, absolutely nothing seems to help.

The only mousepad driver I can find on the DELL website is "not compatable" for my system.

Please, can anyone come up with a solution for this?
