No supported AlienFX devices were detected

Hi everyone! I have bought a G15 5515 recently and facing "common" (at least it's my understanding after doing a research) issue appearing in all Dell products with Alienware features. The point is I can't get rid of this, no matter what I do. Tried a number of solutions available on Dell Support or Reddit and similar pages, i.e. like this one:

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-uk/000141237/alienware-fx-light-issues?lwp=rt

however the problem still appears. After 5 attempts of re-installing Alienware software with no positive effect I decided to do a factory reset of the device. All Dell and Windows updates installed but I still can't manage my laptop through ACC.

Every time after restart, the first start-up of application trigger a Windows notification that ACC service is starting but nothing happens. I receive another notification from ACC that no supported devices were detected or I don't receive anything, app is just stuck on service loading (dots in a circle on the middle) forever. The app itself is not frozen, I can hit the X, but second launch ends up with notification about no supported devices. It's endless.

Did, someone of you, manage to break this loop? Or just know how to solve this? Any suggestions?

Regards,

Marcin

It's funny that you should say, PVEqualsNRT, that no updates have been installed because very recently (in the last couple of days) my Alienware software updated itself. I don't recall if there was a need for me to do anything to start or finish the update but there's definitely a new update out there for this software. If there is now a random problem with this software that wasn't there before, given you've already rebooted with no change, it'd be worth going down the uninstall/reinstall routine (as described in the post above yours) to see if that helps, otherwise it may be time to talk to Dell Support (if that's an option for your laptop).

I had the same issue. I unistalled Geforce Experience and restarted my pc. It then worked again.

Did you already resolve this problem?

Nope, I tried TechnicalLuck13's suggestion but it did not work. I got G15 5515 Ryzen edition. Please resolve this issue as it is very annoying. Thank you!

I've tried following along with your first link, but I can't delete C:\Program Files\Alienware\Alienware Command Center because it says: The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program.

I've tried installing File LockSmth - PowerToys from Microsoft, clicking "What's using this file?", and closing the background application.

deleting all temp files, emptying recycle bin/restarting

and restarting Windows Explorer.

It still says that the file is in use, and won't let me delete. So I can't uninstall Alienware Command Center.

What prompted all of this is that I just downloaded an update for Alienware Command Center and some of my RGB lights have defaulted to their default colors.  Accessing the program won't let me change any RGB settings. I did manage to delete some Alienware Command Center files, and I can't seem to pull the program up at all now, so I can't tell you exactly what error it gave me.

to delete C:\Program Files\Alienware\Alienware Command Center, you might have to launch in safe mode. its what I had to do to delete the files.
