NVMe not detected
Dell G5 gaming laptop not detecting a new 2nd 500gb Kingston nvme m.2. In the 2nd NVME slot.
It simply shows as “PCIe SSD” in device management. Won’t show in bios or disk part.

The storage specifications for G5 15 laptop indicates that it supports only one M.2 SSD.

@Chino de Oro this is the G5 5505
I have 2 NVMe ports on the board. SSD1 and SSD2.
I’ve entirely removed the OEM NVMe 256gb SSD NVMe to test the socket. Now only the new 500gb Kingston NVMe is plugged in.
InsydeH20 (my bios) only states “PCIe SSD” and will not let me do anything else with the chip. Same as before when I used it in the 2nd slot and the first slot held the OEM 256gb WD NVMe SSD.

Only general info for G5 laptop was given when specific model was neglected to disclose.
Verify SATA operation mode is at default settings AHCI. With the original boot SSD removed, your can test the Kingston with new Windows installation. It appears that the Kingston is faulty when it was not accessible in either Windows or BIOS.
