Power cord issues

Dell Inspiron 15
5559
service tag
shipped December 2016
it had a 45 watt charger that worked
small tip almost 3/16"
the service tag says 45 watt

but now when I use it it says it needs a 65 watt charger

my other dell is newer and has a 65 watt that works in it.

my good one is CN-OG6341-77781-68H-00BS-A03
DP/N 0G6341
A 65WATT CHARGER

Updated to windows 10
maybe the bios got updated and now it needs a 65 watt charger.

does that make any sense?

What is interesting is that if you enter your service tag number at Parts-People it lists the 45W adapter as not compatible. But shows the 65W adapter as an exact OEM match. So is it possible that the BIOS update had some influence on that, maybe. But the 65W looks to be the adapter you should be using. That information is here.
