Processor Fan Error (Inspiron 5570)

Hi,

My Inspiron 5570 gets hot(upto~85-90C), found out the fault is with the Processor fan which gave an error 2000-0511 in the boot up diagnostic, tried troubleshooting which was not of any help, tried contacting support but cannot as my warranty just expired a few days ago tried renewing my warranty online which said "Sorry, unable to process your request, please contact support".which in turn requires a Warranty.

Ps

Air vents are clean and not obstructed , Bios and Device Drivers are Up-to-Date, There is no physical Damage.

From what I can find that suggests the CPU cooler fan is bad. That would also go along with the overheating.

However you need to look at the fan with the PC powered on to see if that is actually the problem or just the sensor reporting it is bad.

Here is the link to the Dell manuals:

First step suggestion is to replace the fan.

Here is one that I found doing a search.  I know nothing about the company just one search hit.

Checked it while the PC is On the fan makes some abnormal noises and does not cool the CPU at all the idle temperature of the PC Keeps fluctuating between 65~75C. Read almost all the manuals no help from there.

I am really hoping to keep that as my absolute last option and first check if there is any other way to fix this issue.

Options are limited, especially with a laptop and model specific hardware.

You could take it to a PC shop and let them check out what is wrong.

I ran the pre-boot diagnostics a few times continuously 2/3 times it shows an error for the processor fan and the 3rd time all tests are passed so I think it is not a hardware problem but rather a software one.

I've given you my remote diagnosis based on your posts.  Its not a software problem.

I'm through.  Maybe someone else will post a response.

hotzw,

Unfortunately, based on the service tag number, the warranty has expired. You can wait for a reply from other community members or contact the Dell Out of Warranty Support Team by clicking here.
