safe mode---boot options
I just set up a win10 inspiron 5593. I am new to win10. How do i get into safe mode when booting up [start or restart}. How do I get into boot options if I need to boot from a memory stick or dvd drive to install a precious working image?
This should not be rocket science.
thx

There is no longer "safe mode" - you can start in selective startup (start-run-msconfig). Then reboot.
To boot from a flash drive, subject to limitations: F12 at powerup with the drive connected.
The flash drive MUST be set up to work in UEFI mode in order to appear in the startup menu.

When I google safe mode and boot I get 5 different instructions on how to enter safe mode on a win10 computer, so there must be a safe mode with boot options

There is no longer a safe mode. There IS selective startup. Open the task manager and click the Startup tab to disable items at startup.
