If your touchpad isn't working, it may be a result of a missing or out-of-date driver. Updating or reinstalling your touchpad drivers in Device Manager may help solve the problem. To open Device Manager, type device manager in the search box on the taskbar, then select Device Manager.

I tried that without success. It seems it a physical issue. the buttons at the bottom used to have a click feel to them before I took it apart. Now there is nothing.

Hello,

download this manual and read the section about removing the touchpad after that open your laptop and carefully check is everything is there as it should disconnect and reconnect it.

When opening the laptop make sure you take anti ESD measures

if the hardware is ok then check this
