I'm new here so please forgive me if I make a mistake. I have 2 questions if that's ok (If I should/need to post them separately, please, let me know). I have an Inspiron 1501 with a Sempron 3500+ 1.80 Ghz processor. I was researching upgrading it & saw that someone has a Turion X2 TL-68 2.4 Ghz processor. Will ANY S1 socket processor work because the Turion is $125 but, I found a Turion X2 ZM-86 2.4 Ghz processor for a LOT cheaper.

My other question is, it came with one 2 Ghz memory stick which read 1.80 usable. When I upgraded to two 2 Ghz sticks, it reads 2.86 usable. Why so little for twice the memory?
