Unable to install SupportAssist
Inspiron 15 7559
Windows 10 Home (latest updates)
I have full ADMIN rights
SupportAssist was working fine on my laptop, but last week it wouldn't open so I decided to install the latest version from dell website. I have tried multiple times - following suggestions to clean up folders under ProgramData, clean reboot etc. but I always get the same error:
Error I see in EventLog
Product: Dell SupportAssist -- Error 1920. Service Dell Client Management Service (DellClientManagementService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

I have this problem as well (Xps15 9560), purged all the Dell software and trying to reinstall
It also fails trying to start the dell client mgmt service with message
dell client management service insufficient privileges
even though UAC off and local admin user
how do we resolve this dell. I have tried this in multiple users profiles as well.

called Dell couple of Months ago with this issue,
Here's what they did
MS FIXT to remove application
uninstall supportassist using this.
Once done
Removed Dell updates application ( it uses Dell client management)
Delete Services from below registry location
dell hardware
dell client management
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
Reboot
install supportassist

Have you tried disabling your security software (McAfee, Malwarebytes, whatever). Those security programs are known to interfere with SupportAssist installing. Also, if you have Fast Startup enabled, you might consider disabling it. It also can cause all kinds of weird and "wonderful" issues.
I hope this helps. Have a great day.
