I have a Dell Inspiron 7586 that recently started having keyboard and USB-C issues.

 

USB-C Issues: The one USB-C Port on my laptop will no longer respond when a USB-C flash drive, USB-C hub with HDMI out, or a USB-C 60 watt PD Charger is connected. All of these devices previously worked flawlessly with my laptop and still work with my Samsung Galaxy S10+. The 2 USB A ports on the other side of the laptop continue to function as expected.

 

Keyboard issues: The keyboard frequently misses keystrokes, and it happens with all keys, including Alt, Ctrl, Windows Logo, Enter, and arrow keys. This makes it absolutely frustrating to try to use the laptop, which is why I am currently using an external keyboard.

 

Both the Keyboard and USB-C issues showed up simultaneously, so I must assume they are related and/or have the same cause. Probably related, just prior to experiences either issue, I unplugged my USB-C charger, and the laptop said it was still charging, preventing it from going into sleep mode (due to my power settings). I rebooted the laptop which made it show it was no longer charging, but from that moment forward USB-C has been not responsive and keyboard has been very flaky.

 

Also, I believe this to be a hardware issue because both issues occur inside Windows 10, in Ubuntu being run as a "Live CD" off a USB drive connected to USB-A port, and during the built in Diagnostic test (using the extended test and manually selecting the keyboard, repeatedly alternating between any 2 keys, regardless of speed, will frequently show the same key being registered twice in a row without the other key being registered in between the keystrokes, ie: qwqwqwwqwqwqqw). Also, the Diagnostic thorough test reports no issues with anything.
