Which software do I use?

Is the "Dell Update" Windows Store app still relevant? Main reason why I ask this is that I am a bit confused as to

which drivers I should download:

How come in Dell support assist, for "Get Drivers & Downloads" it's just a link to their website? Why won't this app check for updates for me instead of making me go to a website? What is the purpose of the Dell Update App if Support Assist basically does what it does for you? I'm so confused as to which of the three drivers I need. Do I even need the third one if I just install Support Assist from the Windows Store?

I don't use any of that Dell software. I check the drivers page and update if there is new one that is marked Urgent. .

Uninstall all older Dell Update programs and use Dell Update Application for Windows 10 RS1+ (Version 1607 or newer). I tested it out on my systems yesterday, on the whole it works pretty well. There are a couple of bugs however:

The main bug is that after installation, it runs as a standard user (where it is useless). In order for it to work correctly, you must right click the Dell Update icon in the start menu and select Run as Administrator.

@Philip_Yip So in order for the app to be useful, you have to right click on it and click "run as administrator"? How the heck is the average user going to know/remember to do this every time? That's so bizarre. I was wondering why the app never found any updates. Thanks!

Yes it is quite a flaw... however once it's run as an administrator it appears to work pretty well.

I've left feedback to some of my Dell Contacts, so hopefully it should be a minor update, for the installer to set the .exe to always run as an administrator.

Let me know how you get along, with it set to run as an administrator.

FYI: You can change the app to always run as administrator in the compatibility section of the properties accessed by right clicking the .exe file that the shortcut is pointing to.
