@AdityaSharma2020 It's not "corruption". It's a design choice. In addition to the reasons ejn63 posted, having RAM soldered onto a motherboard allows a system to be thinner than it would be otherwise. Yes, there are some very thin laptops that have upgradeable RAM, but they're also more expensive because making laptops thin while maintaining replaceable components requires more expensive designs. And it's not like Dell is the only vendor doing this. Apple has used an onboard CPU, onboard RAM, and even onboard SSD storage for a while now. Some laptops even have onboard WiFi. I agree that it would be nice for components to be upgradeable, and that's why I buy systems that allow that whenever possible. But the market indicates that consumers would rather have thin and light systems than upgradeable/serviceable systems. Look at devices like iPads and even Microsoft Surface devices. They can't be upgraded and they're extremely difficult to repair -- but they sell very well.
I dont know a man on this earth who says "I can lift a 1.2 kg laptop but i cant lift a 2.2 kg laptop" .
Apple is a company atleast if someone gives me a product even for free of cost,it will be returned as it solves no technical purpose from a developer perspective but only purchased for its eye candy displays. For product differentiation, its important to sell the right product first.Laptops serve manifold purposes so they must be designed in that manner.I am happy to use a laptop which promises me 10 years of life stretch in order to help me work on a software development project that has completion time of 10 years. But if i know after 5 years , i may need to move all my project work to another laptop, its cumbersome decision.
Classifying laptops on two categories home, business is wrong in first place. There are many like home, businesses, developers, gaming, content writing. To add more confusion how can someone decide that requirement will not be in subsets of these ?.If i am a home user that does not mean that i will not run sap software as part of my business work. So classification based on just home/business doesnot justify selling model.
You get me wrong. Apple is a simple waste company in my opinion. Its devices are only good for girls to take their selfies and not meant for any serious development work.
Since it sounds like you haven't received the system yet, and that you'll never be happy with it, cancel the order and buy what you want.
And if you've ever seen Apple "give away" anything free of cost, that's a new one. Apple essentially charges up to and over a 100% premium for the same hardware.
Chances are your Vostro system ran the equivalent of $350-650. If you can find a new Apple notebook in that price range, go for it -- but you won't, as the least expensive Macbooks are in the $1,000 range.
Pl complete... Despite that vostro cheap design laptops work for many years owing to fact that components are upgradeable and has replaceable options. But medium and upper series laptop are lost the day any onboard component fails.
Dont you think can average customer understand such tricks ?
@AdityaSharma2020 Since when is whether somebody CAN do something, or even whether they NEED something, a relevant factor in the market? Nobody NEEDS most things they have, but that doesn't stop them from WANTING them, being willing to pay for them, and being willing to trade away other things for them. Obviously a good chunk of the market is willing to give up being able to upgrade and replace parts on their laptops in exchange for smaller laptops. I'm not saying I like that. As I said, I try to buy laptops that have upgradeable/replaceable parts. But you asked why laptops have onboard components, and you got answers. Things are built to a price point and to satisfy market demands. Whether the market SHOULD be demanding those things or whether your preferences align with the market overall are completely separate questions.
You obviously don't follow Apple products very closely if you think their products are just for selfies and not any serious development work. Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro alone are widely used for "serious development work". And that's before even considering XCode on its own, never mind other software development apps. But there's no point having that discussion here.
As to the distinction between consumer and business laptops, there are several design differentiators between the two categories driven by the fact that consumers and businesses typically have different design priorities, and also because businesses tend to be willing to spend more on laptops. Of course there are subcategories within each (gamers, content developers, etc.) and there are products that cater to those subcategories, like Alienware laptops vs. Precision laptops. The increasing trend of working from home may change that somewhat going forward, but that remains to be seen.
I'm sorry you seem to be so disappointed with so many aspects of the modern PC industry right now, but I don't really know what else to tell you, nor do I see much point in continuing this discussion. You asked a question. You got answers. Now you're pretty much just ranting.
Well yes, you should purchase a notebook that has the feature you require. Why would you buy something that doesn't meet your needs and then complain about it? I'm sure if you search the market you find what you want, you'll have to pay for it, however.
10 years on a notebook I don't think so even the best will be obsolete in 3 or 4 years still usable for another 2 or 3, Desktop now is another animal and can be upgraded along the way much more cheaply than notebooks.
I got this laptop finally today delivered as Vostro 3590 15.6" i5 10 gen as i told you there is no other option than to buy this one.But it has come out to be even worst than expected. All viewers are requested " This is a zero value of money laptop but still better than taking any soldered ram one". The display bezels are so weak that you can press them with two fingers and it sinks deeply. The plastic already has a shoe back design. The laptop charger is of utmost worst quality, the worst you will find among today chargers. No fingerprint. Very bad display. Touchpad stucks.
On second part i have cancelled dell laptop orders worth Rs. 803000 business wide and dropped 15 quotation. Its a sigh and i dont need to return my laptop now.
Does onboard RAM makes failure rate higher? And are generally RAM failure prone? I don't re-collect a RAM failure on all the laptops I owned currently or in past.

Vostros are the small business versions of Inspiron systems, and as such are built to a price - the lowest possible.
Whenever you buy at the inexpensive end of anything -- cars, computers, cell phones, appliances -- you get compromises for the same of cheapness.
That's why they're built as cheaply as possible, with features to match - so they can sell for a rock-bottom price.

There's that 100% Apple tax.

You will need to post in the customer care forum, they have Dell Employee there that might or might not help you. This is a User to User forum no much any of us can do for you. https://www.dell.com/community/Customer-Care/bd-p/Customer-Care?ref=lithium_menu

Does onboard RAM makes failure rate higher? And are generally RAM failure prone? I don't re-collect a RAM failure on all the laptops I owned currently or in past.
