Windows 10 install fail

I have my dad´s old inspiron 15 3565 notebook running linux and I want to install windows 10, but the instaler usb fails to load, glitch and loops every time. It flashes the windows logo, then glith into a broken logo for like a minute before turning off and looping

I got the iso files from microsoft and burned the usb with the official tool, It worked in my desktop.

Initially I thought that the bios might be outdated for win 10, so I downloaded the current one and updated it with a DOS booteable usb, but the issue still happens.

The installer wont run, cant pass the windows logo before it glitch out and restart.

I managed to install windows 7 with no issue, deleting all previous linux partitions. But win  7 is no longer supported and there are no official drivers available to download. The pc wont even connect to the internet through cable.

You must select Custom Install after booting to the installation media you burned and first delete the Linux partition to install windows 10 on the unallocated partition.

I too was faced with the same issue where it would show the windows logo then restart itself, I have finally found a solution to get windows 10 installed and bootable. Trust me I spent a week and a board replacement just to finally come to this solution. I was able to finally get it to install using this utility:https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-ca/drivers/osiso/recoverytool  What I am guessing is happening is the tool Microsoft uses to create the bootable usb is creating it in what Dell refers to as legacy mode with no uefi support I am guessing that trying to use that to create a uefi bootable windows is what is making windows 10 freak out and restart. I literally came across this solution only after searching for hours upon hours and decided to give it a shot at the time I am typing this install has completed and have finally made it to the desktop. I should also note it will take you back to the version of windows it shipped with so there will be some updates needed.

Have you re-enabled a UEFI Boot with Secure Boot? Is it a 20 Half 2 (20H2) ISO you are using? Does installation fail with previous builds of Windows 10?

Have you tried to clean install with older Windows 10 installation media such as 19H2 or 20H1? I put some instructions on downloading older Windows versions and creating a UEFI Bootable USB are here:

After many hours banging my head on this issue, I discovered that this Dell was in RAID-0 configuration.  Windows will never be able to set up that way.  Set the hard drive to ACHI and all set to go.
