Windows 10 uses much RAM

Hi, I'm a Windows 10 user. My current laptop is Dell Inspiron 3476. I have 4GB of DDR4 memory, I often find my RAM usage is at about 70%-80% when idle. I don't know if this only happens to me or other Dell users or even the whole Windows 10 community. I have asked in the Windows Community and they said that maybe Windows Defender Offline is running in a loop. Currently I am keeping my laptop at default settings and uninstalled any unnecessary programs. I don't know if I have to reinstall Windows just to resolve this problem. Please help me if you can, I appreciate it!

It is normal RAM usage for windows 10, it will free some memory in case you will launch any program, but while you haven't - it caches information in RAM. If you would have 8Gb RAM, it would use even more than 4Gb from OS start up.

Teste este metodo

Talves o metodo acima pode ajudar.

Aconcelho você deixar ao menos 1 gigabyte de  arquivo de paginação quando for jogar algum jogo.

Mude também o esquema de energia.

windows doesn't have an out of ram error, its an out of memory error and often that is actually the page file at fault here and driver leaks to blame.

Above post is right, windows will empty the space if you need it and put the data on the page file.

Another trick that i discovered on my windows 10 virtual pc is that win 10 does is compresses all data from programs you use during the day into ram so if you reopen them it is much faster than opening it off hard drive again. If you need the space it will put it all on page file them.

I would definitely consider doubling the amount of RAM if possible. 4 GB is about the minimal for typical configurations and users, especially for 64-bit Windows.

Welcome to the Dell Community @nubm3rcy

Try this until you add more memory.
