Windows10 upgrade
Hi there
Is it possible to upgrade windows 10 from windows 7?
I got Inspiron N5010, Extended RAM 4gb to 10gb, internal hdd is 500gb.
Tried to upgrade windows but turned into nothing, not even windows 7 working now.
Tried different methods of upgrading like; upgrading online and also from usb media . Right now it just starts and goes off showing blue screen .
Any help much appreciated.
Thank you

You can still upgrade to Windows 10 for free, as long as you have a valid Windows 7 or 8.1 license that you are upgrading from.
As for the BSOD, it could be a number of things, but it sounds like it could be RAM related. Did you try re-seating the memory modules? Perhaps running a memory test to verify that it's working correctly? What's the RAM configuration? 10 GB doesn't seem right as that would mean that you would have a 8 GB module and a 2 GB module installed. It's also not a good idea to mix different sizes or speeds of RAM as this can cause performance and stability issues. Memory should be upgraded in pairs consisting of the same brand, model, size & speed. What I would recommend doing is reverting your RAM configuration back to the factory installed 4 GB, or remove one of the smaller modules and try installing Windows again. If Windows installs and works correctly, then the problem was with your RAM configuration. If it still fails, than it's likely something else.
