Cluster hardlink limit ? 65k ?
Hi,
Is there really a limit of "number of hardlinks" we can create on a cluster ?
I ask the question because I've found in this document
https://www.delltechnologies.com/en-us/collaterals/unauth/white-papers/products/storage/h16857-wp-onefs-best-practices.pdf
that there is a limit of 65k in a ---"cluster"---. I find it a little be strange (and a very small limit), I was thinking that the limit is fixed by the inode struct "link count" type (per file) or the - efs.ifm.max_links - one fs attribute.
However, I'm not able to find this limit of 65k in https://www.delltechnologies.com/ja-jp/collaterals/unauth/technical-guides-support-information/products/storage/docu94152.pdf )
My onefs version is 8.2.2.0 and cluster type is H500.
Thank you

The latter document (Tech Specs) has a reference to KB 447064, which then states that 65k is the technical limit and maximum value for efs.ifm.max_links -- somewhat clumsy presentation indeed. Default and best practice is 1000, in agreement with the former document (Best Practices).
