Failure to add nodes

Hello, i have a 4 A200 nodes Isilon cluster without SED drives and am trying to add 4 more nodes that have SED drives.  Both old and new are running OneFS 8.2.1.  When i try to join the new nodes i get the following error. "Failed to build proposals from ia_array_config commit".   I should be able to add SED nodes with non-SED nodes correct?
