SyncIQ and SmartQuotas
How exactly should SmartQuotas be treated in SyncIQ enabled Cluster pairs?
From what I read, one should only have SmartQuotas enabled on the SyncIQ source cluster, right? It is strongly recommended to not have any SmartQuotas enabled on the target cluster that point to SyncIQ target directories.
Does this imply that during/after SyncIQ failover, one must delete the SmartQuotas on the source cluster? Because, during the time that the SyncIQ target cluster is used as production cluster, the original source cluster becomes the temporary target cluster...
Real world procedure would be:
1. Initiate SyncIQ failover tasks
2. Delete SmartQuotas on source cluster
3. Configure SmartQuotas on target cluster (if desired)
4. Run production on target cluster until ready for failback
5. Initiate SyncIQ failback tasks
6. Delete SmartQuotas on target cluster (if configured in 3.)
7. Configure SmartQuotas on source cluster
8. Run production on source cluster

I think you have covered the essence of the KB article.
If in doubt, the "Workaround" section of the KB also expresses it in a brief and consise way:
"To avoid the problem, modify SmartQuotas quota domains as follows:

so, after re-reading your link several times (thats quite a heavy read), is the following statement correct:
If SyncIQ policies and SmartQuota policies are always created on the same directory level on the source cluster, all should be fine during normal operation, during SyncIQ failover and also for failback. No SmartQuotas would have to be removed at any time to assure error free SyncIQ functionality. One just has to keep an eye on the SmartQuota policies during failover time to make sure that the quotas would not be exceeded when failing back.
Thanks a lot for your help!
