1.6 GHz processor clock speed?

what does this mean? My system info says I have a 3.06 GHz processor, and 1.6GHz clock speed. Does this mean my 3.06GHz processor is only running at 1.6??

It should adjust the speed of the CPU to save on battey usage.  If you don't need to have the CPU going full bore, it won't use it and save juice.  If you start running taxing things (a game, etc.) it'll pump it up.

To truly know the true perfomance of your CPU, you download and install the Intel Processor Frequency ID Utility, which would provide you the true performance of your CPU
