2 logins

I just purchased a new inspirion laptop with Windows 8.

during setup, it froze and had to start over. During the second attempt, I tried to enter the same info ie; email address & name. it would not let me continue, saying it already existed. I had to start with a new, alternate email. Now, after setup is complete, I have 2 options for login.

how do I eliminate one?

Thank you very much! This solved my problem.

Just an extra note, I wish the manual would have been included. I see where I can download the .pdf for it but it makes it rather inconvenient.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi mrdgpt,

Please help me understand, do you find 2 User accounts?

If yes, follow below mentioned steps to delete one User account:

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click More Settings option.
  3. In the next window, find the User Accounts and Family Safety section.
  4. Click the Add or Remove User Accounts link.
  5. In the next window you'll see a list of users. Click the one you want to delete.
  6. A new window will be shown. Click the Delete the Account link for that user.
  7. Next, you'll have to confirm or refuse to delete all of the user's files.
  8. Finally, click the Delete Account button and the user will be removed from your Windows 8 system.

Also, check the below video which helps you in Adding/Deleting the user accounts:
