Though I can't remember the exact error message I got. It would just power up and then die, and keep doing that until the battery ran out. it only once made to the error message.
I had to take mine to the shop, and I don't know what they did, but they said its the main board that's not working. So basically, the thing is junk, because it would cost more to replace that than buying a new computer. my laptop was four years old to the month that it died, so it must have been old age. There was no explanation as to why it suddenly died.
Thanks ... that just confirms what I have been told by a few others. It was a little over 4 years old as well. It would have been nice to keep it for one more year.

Reseat the memory, any mini PCI cards, PCMCIA cards, and the CPU (latter requires removing they keyboard).
Beyond that, it likely needs a replacement main board.
