Hi,

Welcome to the Community.

Firstly regarding the battery you don't have to disconnect the charger, when its 100% charged,as power supply to the battery will automatically get cut off when its 100% charged.

Secondly if you are not going to work on the system, battery charge  does not matter. If you are going to leave it idle for more than 4 to 6 hrs its better you turn off the system.

Thirdly Intel GPU is used by default for application which are not graphics intensive  and on the other hand Nvidia GPU is used for graphic intensive applications. The Inspiron™ N5110 / 15R is equipped with nVidia’s Optimus technology. The Optimus technology is designed to maximize performance and user experience on the computer, while minimizing the impact on battery life. You can make changes under Nvidia control panel to assign the GPU you want to use for different applications. There you also have the default option that is  Auto select option. This means system will automatically switch between the two GPU depending on the application your are opening on the system. This is called the Optimus Technology.

Hope this answers your query,

Thank you

Roshan.

Hi,

As long as the system is turned off and not in use,the battery charge does not make any difference.(be it full charged or low charge).

To make the best use of both GPU on your system, as i mentioned in my previous post, your system comes with Optimus Technology that makes the best use of both GPU,so as such you don't have to configure or choose applications manually.

To know more about Optimus Technology you can refer to the link below:
