Adding More Memory To Lap Top???

I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 with 512 MB Ram. I would like to know if it is possible to add more Memory? If so, could you post a link on how to do this and what memory (card?) I would need? Thank You.

Check your system specifications in the "Manuals" section for the type and maximum ammount of usable RAM.

Also check Crucial's "Memory Advisor" tool for verification and pricing.

I've got an 8200, and its max is 1GB, with 2 x 512MB DDRs.

Dell has it really expensive...maybe Fry's or Office Depot has it cheaper.

Thank You for the links. Crucials system scan shows my i8200 has 2  256 MB memory modules installed (512MB total) and they recommend adding 2 512mb modules which would give me 1 GB total. After looking around their site I came accross 1 GB memory modules for the Dell M50 notebook http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=1F816908A5CA7304. It's my understanding that the M50 and the i8200 are pretty much the same notebook. Would I be able to use  the 2 modules at 1 GB for a total of 2 GB instead of just the 2 @ 512 MB?

The max is 1GB, 2 x 512MB. Putting in a 1GB gives you an error.
