Alienware m17x issue with screen changing random colours
Hi all,
I have been searching online for hours and not found any plausible results to my issue.
My AW m17x had 7% left and so I put it to charge. Prior to today, I turned it on last week and used it briefly to transfer pics from my camera to m HDD and all was working well.
I plugged in the cord to charge and turned the laptop on. When it finally booted to the Windows boot screen I briefly saw my desktop image and then it started changing colors - solid colors, blue, reen, red, white, yellow and back again. From here you can only turn the laptp off. You cannot ctrl-alt-del or see anything apart from these colors.
I left it to charge a bit and tried again, it lasted 1 minute before changing colors.
I then took the plug out and booted from battery and it was ok for about 5 mins and did it again.
I currently am typing this in safe mode with networking and am not having any issues - i have a feeling it is driver related, because when it did this the first time i rolled back my windows update install files and it worked fine. Up until now.
I also had a webpage in my iphone which has somehow now vanished about a workaround for this issue that has to do with the nvidia drivers/program, something. I was silly not to have saved this bookmark and now cannot find the response. Sadly, this was precisely the issue I was having.
I was just about going to set this up as my desktop replacement but can't now until this issue is resolved.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to ad that when the screen starts to change color there is a crackly sound from somewhere inside and there is no sound on the laptop
