hey what model do you have? i just got a new inspiron 1525 and have only used it 3 times and all of a sudden the screen started acting like that and i found out that it had an internal crack even though nothing has ever happened to it! This is the first Dell laptop I've bought and I am really not happy about it. I don't know if the Dell's are just extremely sensitive or what the problem is but they want $400 to fix it and I only paid $800 for the thing. I had bought the Dell to replace a four year-old Toshiba I had. I still have another Toshiba that my daughter uses that she's had for a year that has never been worked on and then I have a MacBook Pro I use for work. I've never had any of my computers worked on and I have never had any problems until this Dell. I wanted them to just take it back and give me the other $400 so I could just put it towards another brand but they told me they wouldn't do that. If I didn't need a PC I would just get another Mac, they are really good computers and I've never had any problems with anything, not to mention you don't have to put up with Vista.

I have an Inspiron 1501.  My computer is now fixed I hope.  I contacted dell support and found out that i needed to update my bios.  The person actually helped me out and updated everything for me.  Your computer should be under warranty for a year. They should fix that.
