Bluetooth Keyboard Software INCOMPATIBLE with Touch-Pad software

I have a XPS M1730 laptop purchased March 2008 running Windows XP Professional.  Installing the DELL Bluetooth Keyboard & Mouse bundle software (P/N DR987 Rev.A00 - March 2007) has caused problems with my touch-pad preference controls.  Everytime I restart my laptop after this software is installed it RESETS all my personalized Touch Pad settings to their default settings; a real pain! 

I have looked everywhere on the Dell site and XPS customer care has tried as well for updated software for the Bluetooth Keyboard and mouse (SKU 310-7990 / Mfg. Part FW115) and found nothing.  Does anyone have a solution outside of tossing the wireless keyboard and mouse?  Any assistance is much appreciated. - Hugh
