copy/paste problems

Look I know this is probably a very easy thing for most computer people but for me I am stumped... I am on a social site and I write letters... Long letters so periodicly I copy what I have written because inevitably I hit some stupid button on the lower part of my key board and it either goes back to the last page I was on or just closes the tab and all my letter is gone so I copy it and most of the time I am able to paste it and move on but today or this morning I was writing an extremely long letter and copied it actually 3 different times before I hit that back button that I have no clue where it is so I can avoid it... But anyhow when I reopened the page where I hit the right mouse button and guess what NO paste shows up now I know that it is saved on clip board or note book  but how do I find previously saved items on there so I can recover this amazing at least I think it is amazing letter???

I wouldn't use the clipboard to save copied information over a long period of time since the contents can be easily overwritten by any other application. The clipboard is mainly designed to temporarily save information for immediate use.If you don't get the "paste" - option the information is lost.

There are a lot of useful third party programs that overcome the limitation of the standard clipboard by storing all copied actions inside a file.

In your case I recommend you to install "M8 Free clipboard" .The free version lets you save up to 20 copy actions and then starts to overwrite old ones.
