CPU Over-clocking Not Working
I recently brought a Dell Inspiron 15 7537 Which features an i7 4500u clocked at 1.8 ghz. It can turbo boost to 3.0 ghz but the problem is when i'm gaming it still only uses 1.8 ghz (Indicated to me through Task manager performance tab).
When i go to task manager and use the performance tab it says Maximum Speed is 1.8ghz, and when i'm gaming it uses 1.8 ghz and says it's at 100% CPU usage.
I have already set the performance settings to high, and since updating my Bios they seem to be locked, so i can't check if there's any thing there i need to turn on.
Thanks for any help in advance.

If it's UEFI that might well be the problem, did your laptop come pre-installed with Windows 8?

Check the BIOS setup - is the AC adapter properly recognized or listed as "unknown" ? F2 at powerup to check.

My AC should be fine because my laptop is charging. But i don't have access to my bios ever since i made an update, when the dell logo screen appears there is no option to press F2 or F12, and the don't work either because I tried...any ideas?

If you're charger isn't capable of outputting enough current to power your system fully, then it won't. That is intentional and usually both the BIOS and Dell Quickset will nag you about it. But I don't think that this is the issue here.
This issue with the BIOS seems very unusual, I gather from your last post that you've tried pressing F2 and F12 even though they aren't there anymore? And that they do nothing?
Do you know what BIOS revision you were on before? And what one do you have now?
I'm thinking that the BIOS flash didn't go exactly as planned, but still well enough to leave a functional machine.

Thank you MRMAGUIRE for your response. Yes, I have tried to access my bios by pressing F2 and F12 and the option isn't even visible any more.
I checked My Bios Version and Date Which is Dell Inc. A06, 27/11/2013 and the bios mode is UEFI (if that even matters). I'm not sure what Bios I had before but they did allow me access to the bios menu.
I'm not really sure what to do next but you seem to be on the right lines.

Thank you for Taking the time out to respond I really appreciate it . I solved/ found a work around by unparking my cores, the program I used get the CPU to use all of it's power so it works fine (enough) now.
I'm going to mark this thread as answered and again, thanks... you put me on the right lines.
