CPU overheating or its normal?

Hello,

Yesterday I have bought new laptop (Dell Vostro 14 5468) and I have one issue.

I started game Dota 2 and my temperature raised up to ~75C and laptop upper part (near monitor) was heating so badly that I cannot even hold my fingers there. Also fan is working really loud.

Then I turn off the game, temperature drops to like ~40C in 2-3 minutes and everything is just fine again.

i5-7200U
GeForce 940MX
8GB RAM
Win 10 Pro 64 Bit

Should I be worried about that? Would cooling pad help me to stop heating so much? Can I call this "Overheating"? Maybe it's still in pre-work?

CPU usage is about 30-40% meanwhile GPU temperature is only 60C~.

Hello DEVILPHAME,

The machine maybe overheating due to the game. The 40C mark is the standard operating temperature. Update the latest BIOS and run an onboard diagnostics. Report back any error code you receive along with the validation codes.

Update the latest BIOS from http://dell.to/2t4F15c. Review the link http://dell.to/2qyl1Dp if you need help with running diagnostics.

Please send me direct message by clicking on my username with the service tag and contact details, should you require further assistance. If the machine is out of warranty please contact Out of warranty support at http://dell.to/1TD76I0.
